Winners announced for the ESSKA 2000-Aircast Fellowship Program
DJO is pleased to announce that the ESSKA (European Society of Sports traumatology, Knee surgery & Arthroscopy) committee in collaboration with AOSSM and APOA has selected three orthopaedic surgeons specialising in sports medicine to take advantage of this year’s DJO-Aircast funded biannual Traveling Fellowship programme. This international exchange program supported by Aircast, gives surgeons the valuable opportunity to improve their skills and share expertise and knowledge in arthroscopy, knee surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine in stimulating environments in internationally accredited and renowned centres.
This year’s winners are Olivier Charrois, MD who splits his time practising at the Clinique Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire and the Clinique du Mont-Louis in Paris; Rainer Siebold, MD from the ARCUS Sportklinik in Pforzheim, Germany; and Peter Verdonk, MD from Ghent University Hospital in Belgium. They will be chaperoned by their ‘Godfather’ and mentor Daniel Fritschy, MD from Geneva, ESSKA’s President. Their month-long trip, which started in mid-June this year, will take them to some of the leading sports medicine centres in the States and Canada in Arizona, Georgia, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, New York, Ontario and Calgary. Their trip will culminate with an invitation to this year’s prestigious Magellan Society Reception. The Fellows will make a presentation of their experiences at the ESSKA Congress 2008 in Porto.
