Steffie Laier is the new WMX World Champion

By dominating the Dutch Grand Prix, German Steffi Laier has also won the World Championship motocross for women. The new WMX champion didn’t even have to push very hard to win her first title. After winning the first heat with ease, Steffi was already crowned World Champion. She could have relaxed in the second heat and just enjoyed a sunny raceday, but she chose to win and by doing so, she added more prestige to her new title.

“The track in Lierop was really hard”, she said. “There was no time to relax and the deep ruts and whoops were very demanding on the whole body and the knees. I could make full use of my DonJoy braces, they gave me perfect stability for this sand riding. Winning the title is a reward for a very good season. I trained very hard for this and I have to thank my team and all the people that helped me to make my dream come true.”
