DJO successfully launches three new products at ISAKOS

ISAKOS, probably the only truly International Orthopaedic Association, held one of its best ever Orthopaedic Congresses this year in the beautiful historic city of Florence. Over 600 unexpected visitors registered during the Congress which was a rewarding result following the immense effort put into the event’s organisation and also enhancing its educational and scientific programmes.

DJO used the ISAKOS congress as a platform to launch its latest new products to the industry’s international key opinion leaders as well as announcing its commitment to continuing funding of travelling fellowships, including the prestigious Magellan Society's Alumni fellows.

DJO’s three key new design innovations launched for the orthopaedic market were:

The new Low-pro Fourcepoint hinge

DonJoy are renowned across the world for their innovative technological product design, and the company’s ‘FourcePoint Hinge Technology™’ was developed to enhance the ‘Four-Points-of-Leverage™’ system, further improving the protective effect of knee braces. The new ‘Low Profile FourcePoint Hinge™’ launched at ISAKOS, and now available on all custom-made ‘Defiance’ braces (Defiance, Defiance III, and Defiance III Female Fource), has been re-designed to be less bulky and will more efficiently meet the high requirements expected of a high-spec custom-made brace by both patients and athletes.

DonJoy’s unique and patented measuring device, the CCMI, used to accurately measure the leg for custom made knee braces, has been upgraded. Designed to record fifteen different anatomical reference points, the ‘CCMI Mark III’  will replace the Mark II model, with significant improvements resulting in an even more reliable and reproducible measurement. This unique and improved measuring device allows DJO to build truly tailor-made and lightweight Defiance braces that will fit the patient like a glove.

On Wednesday May 30th at ISAKOS, Prof Fulkerson demonstrated the use and fitting of the new ‘TruPull Lite’  at the DJO booth.  This low-profile knee sleeve for patients with mild subluxation, mal-tracking and patella arthritis boasts a patented ‘Dual Durometer Buttress System’ that interfaces directly with the skin at the knee providing a soft and tacky interface with the patella, thus applying a consistent corrective force.  Despite its small size and light weight, this brace is a powerful product and ideal for those needing the strength of the Tru-Pull patented system, without the bulk or length of the current Tru-Pull Advanced System.
