Cairoli Rules in Portuguese GP

Nothing or nobody seems to be able to stop Antonio Cairoli. In front of a huge crowd in Agueda, the DJO rider played with the competition in the Portuguese MX1 Grand Prix. Cairoli won both heats and now has an even bigger lead in the world championship.
Suzuki rider Ken De Dycker was the only one that was able to put up a fight against Cairoli in the first heat. But even de big Belgian wasn’t able to hold of the man of the season. The second heat was a copy of the first one, only now Cairoli looked even stronger and faster. He won the second heat with a big advantage over the competition. With his closest opponent failing in Portugal, Antonio Cairoli now leads the world championship with a solid 25 points over De Dycker.
‘Tony the Tiger’ is the only man to have won more than one GP this year.
“I am very happy with this victory”, smiled Cairoli while unstrapping his Donjoy kneebraces. “I’m completely healthy again and i can ride without any physical doubts. My knees are strong again and the braces give me the extra stability and confidence I need to give it a hundred percent. I can’t stress enough how happy I am with my Defiances. After the knee injury I was in doubt if I would ever be completely fit again. No I can say I am. My bike is working fine, I’m in good health and I’m winning. I’m not thinking about the championship. I’m trying to win as much races as I can and have fun on my Yamaha. If things keep working out like they do now, I’ll automatically be ok for the championship in the end.”
